What this website collects

Nothing beyond ordinary server logs. This is a static website: it has no user accounts, no comments, no contact-form backend, no analytics, no advertising and no embedded third-party services. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts or fonts — everything you see is served from this site’s own EU-hosted server.

The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. These are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. From these logs I derive aggregate visitor statistics — pages viewed, referring sites, browser and device types — with IP addresses anonymised before anything is stored. No cookie, script or identifier is involved, and no individual visitor is tracked. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure website.

When you contact me

The contact page offers a phone number, an email address and a LinkedIn profile. The “write to me” box on that page only prepares a message in your own email app — nothing you type is transmitted to or stored on this website.

If you email or call me, I process the details you choose to share — your name, contact details and the content of your message — solely to respond to your enquiry. Business correspondence is kept for the duration of our relationship plus three years, unless legal or accounting obligations require longer. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in responding to business enquiries and, where an engagement follows, contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Your data is not shared or sold

I do not use your data for marketing, do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and do not sell it under any circumstances. My email is hosted with an EU/EEA-based provider.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; and to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi). To exercise any of these rights, write to martin@bilboconsult.com.

Data transfers

This website is hosted on servers within the EU/EEA. No personal data collected through this website is transferred to third countries.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, I will update the date at the top of this page.
